Have a bard and while hes cute his dps is what he brings out of others melee or casters and if that combined makes what he brings to the table (dps wise) more than another dps in his place.
The bst on same acct sustains about 7-8k plus yea he can tank and his pet can offtank at same time, and be healer of last resort (of the 2 bst stays for me) It is a nice sight to see when youre putting out over 30k dps yourself and have all buffs covered.Ĭlick to expand.gave up on my monk (not deleted or anything) but hes not sustaining anywhere near 7-10k 3500 aa hot geared best grp monk weapons If you make your tank a paladin, you could still get clr buffs and have a second healer and rock 3 dps wiz mercs and have a stun class.
I would make your tank an sk or pal to take advantage of bard nuke focii and mana regen. So for tank + bard + sham + wiz merc + wiz merc + clr merc you should be doing 7k(wiz) + 7k(wiz) + 3k(brd) + tank/shaman dps for nearly 20-25k dps sustained that way and you can easily swap in other people/toons without losing anything ever. Wizard mercs in burn mode + bard = 7-8k sustained DPS each. Also for plenty of zones you can get away with just sham healer anyway and forget merc healer. Not as effectively as the plate tanks, but if your tank has to go, the ranger can make a decent. Also, early game (lvl and expansion), they can tank group content. Merc healers are great for relaxing, but you really do want a healer class for those times mercs cant zone in or wont rez during combat, etc. I can’t speak to TLP servers, but back in the day, my ranger was called upon for pulling/tracking and dps. Bard adds a ton of group DPS and other stuff. Your tank will always be better than mercs once you gear it up and get some AAs, until then you can use tank merc.Ĭrowd control/puller class is almost a must. I would do tank + bard + shaman and here is why:
